charter communications, headed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Charter says it is the nation’s fourth-largest cable company and that it will be shedding $8 billion in debt by restructuring. But this didn’t stop the company from establishing more than $9 million in bonuses for top executives.

charter communications a cable company primarily serving the Midwest has followed in the foot steps of such companies as Earthlink and has launched a Sitefinder type service. The service redirects you to a Charter branded search page if you type in the wrong url. This was all done without an announcement to customers.
